Ingredients
Three-pound whole chicken, four carrots, four stalks of celery, one large onion, water, salt and pepper to taste, one teaspoon chicken bouillon granules.
Gather and Prep Ingredients
Wash all vegetables. Put the whole chicken, carrots, celery, and onion into a big soup pot.
Cook the Broth
Add cold water enough to cover all the components. Bring it to a boil, then reduce the heat. Let it simmer, uncovered, for 90 minutes, removing foam as required.
Remove Chicken and Cool
Afterwards, you have to take the chicken out and let it cool. Skin and bone, chop the meat into small bits.
Strain and Combine
Pour the vegetables out of the broth. Clean the pot, return the stock. Chop the vegetables into small pieces and reintroduce them with the chicken to the pot.
Season and Serve
Reheat the soup. Add salt, pepper, and bouillon as desired. Bring to your table warm and enjoy!
